Our Heat Wraps use moist and dry heat to alleviate muscle tensions: The soothing heat emanating from the fillings relieves stiff and sore muscles, eases tension in the applied area, and prevents stress-induced headaches.
The moist heat of the rice filling works more effectively than dry heat, it eases muscle tensions (and lessens pain) more quickly, and it will stay warm for a longer period of time.
Rice makes for a heavy filling while buckwheat hulls are very light weight. If weight is an issue (such as for the elderly or people with osteoporosis) we recommend you choose the buckwheat hull Wraps. Buckwheat hulls emanate a drier kind of heat. The hulls heat up very quickly and we suggest you stay by your microwave and heat the Wraps in 30 second intervals. Depending on the power of your microwave, our buckwheat hull Wraps can heat up in as quickly as 30-60 seconds.
Our Heat Wraps come in various sizes and shapes to allow you to apply them to any area of your body and for various purposes. We offer them in a long/narrow form (Spa Wrap), square-shaped (Relief Wrap), and as a large wrap (Body Wrap) that will cover your entire back from the neck all the way down to your lower back area. The Spa Wrap is usually used around the neck and shoulder areas whereas the Relief Wrap can be applied to any part of the body (arms, tummy, legs, feet). The Relief Wrap is often used to relieve muscle cramps or injuries after sports activities. Many people put the Relief Wrap under their feet on cold days for continued warmth.
Our Heat Wraps have many compartments so keep the filling from shifting with gravity. The filling will stay in place no matter in what position the Wraps are applied. The casings are zippered in case you wish to remove filling to make your Wrap more pliable.
Our Heat Wraps are very easy to use! Simply place your Heat Wrap in a clean microwave oven and heat it in 30 second intervals until it has reached the warmth of your liking. Rice takes longer to heat than hulls. Please make sure to check the temperature of your Heat Wrap before you place it on your skin. It should be very warm, not hot. Do not overheat it! Then place it directly on the area of your choice where relief is most needed. You can also use our Wrap as a Cold Pack by placing it in the freezer for several hours.
We offer two types of essential oils to be placed inside the filling of your Heat Wrap if you so desire. They have been chosen again and again by our customers and we offer them at no additional charge. One has a soothing and calming effect (lavender essential oil) while the other is uplifting and opens our sinuses (eucalyptus essential oil).
