Heat Packs
Moist
heat is proven to work more effectively than dry heat: Moist heat
eases muscle tensions and lessens pain more quickly. The heat emanating
from our Heatpacks stays with the body longer than dry heat can.
This prolonged effect helps you feel relaxed and pain free faster
and for continuously longer periods of time.
Our Heatpack Pillows are long & narrow, perfect for the shoulder
region, for the lower back area, and sore muscles on arms and legs.
The pillow case is removable for washing and made of soft flannel
fabric.
They are very easy to use! Simply put the Heatpack in a clean microwave
oven for 10-30 seconds (Buckwheat Hull Heatpack) or 2-3 minutes
(Rice Heatpack), then apply it for 20-45 minutes. You can also use
both as a Cold Pack by placing them in the freezer overnight.
Buckwheat Hulls are usually temperate when used in Night Pillows. This means that the hulls will not take on the heat of our body or the cold of the room (such as in winter time). However, when placed in the microwave oven, buckwheat hulls heat up quickly and afterwards radiate their soothing warmth for 15-20 minutes. When placed in the freezer, the Heatpack will cool down and can then be applied to strained muscles and sore limbs. Our Heatpack Pillow is light in weight and easy to place in any affected area, be it around the neck, in the lower back area, or on stiff muscles of arms and legs. It is the perfect travel companion on business trips and vacations.
The rice kernel filling also adapts its form to your bodys
curvature and hence for an easy fit around your shoulders and shoulder/neck
area. It is heavier than the Buckwheat Hull Heatpack (rice filling
can weigh up to 5 pounds) but retains heat longer (up to 45 minutes)
and radiates more moisture. This makes the Rice Heatpack a more
potent muscle relaxer. However, with the Rice Heatpack, it is recommended
you take off your shirt to avoid getting it moist.
